Slappy speaks!

OK — I have breaking news!

LM1 and I received a phone call from someone who said he was calling from the Make a Face mask store in Zombie Plaza. It was Slappy, the person who sent us the link to the “What to Expect in HorrorLand”  video, and he was SOOOOO obnoxious.

What kind of dumb name is “Slappy,” anyway? And how does he know so much about HorrorLand??? When I tried to ask him questions, he wouldn’t answer. All he kept asking was if we’d watched the video he sent us the link to.

Um, yes. Like a million, bazillion times.

And then he yelled, “Well, play it again! And get ready to FACE your fears in 31 seconds!” And that was it. He just hung up!

LM1 and I were kind of creeped out, but we watched the video AGAIN. And guess what?

NOTHING.

But then I had a thought, and I told LM1 to play the video one more time. After arguing with me for a few minutes (she couldn’t understand why we needed to keep watching the video), she finally played it. 31 seconds into the video, guess what popped up? The scary, smiling face of a wooden dummy. Staring right at us.

TERRIFYING.

And a few seconds after we saw the dummy’s face, the phone rang! LM1 made me answer it, and after I picked up, all I heard was crazy, maniacal laughter. I tried to ask who it was, but the laughing just got louder and louder. Right when I was about to hang up, the shrieking laughter suddenly stopped.

It was quiet for a few seconds, and then a shrill voice said, “WHO’S THE DUMMY NOW!?!?”

And then . . . a dial tone.

Our next step is clear: LM1 and I have to find out all we can about Slappy! Check back Friday, August 22, to see what we’ve come up with. Bye!
